Frontenac Engineering provided the structural engineering for this private residential home renovation which included the addition of a 3 story atrium. One of the challenges we encountered involved the main lateral force resistance system at the rear atrium wall. Our solution was to use steel moment frames designed to accommodate the large glass windows.
